Burning eyes: causes, symptoms and natural remedies

With the digital age there has been an incidence of burning eyes precisely because of the visual stress to which we are subjected, both for work and leisure.

  • foreign body sensation in the eye
  • eye pain
  • dryness

Burning eyes: natural remedies

To soothe and remedy the annoying sensation of burning eyes is necessary to intervene and eliminate the accidental factors that are the cause therefore:

  • Avoid using perfumes, makeup or detergents that may irritate them.
  • Avoid places where there is a lot of smoke and smog.
  • Do not wear contact lenses for very long periods of time.
  • Reduce the time you spend in front of a computer screen, cell phone, tablet or TV.
  • If you have an allergy, take oral antihistamines or antihistamine eye drops with a prescription.
  • In case of dry eyes, artificial tears can help.
  • For redness and burning you can apply cold water compresses or lukewarm chamomile tea and put them on the eyes several times a day.
  • Do eye exercises, especially if you have to look at a computer screen for many hours for work.
